The Lion and The Lamb Pt.10

The Lion and the Lamb Part 10

I was there on my knees, enraptured, in awe of what the Lamb had to say. The anticipation was killing my patience to know what He was going to say.

"What more is there?" I inquired with an open ear willing to learn.

With a grin the Lamb continued His lesson, "I died so you could live and fall no more. You need to understand with only me, you can see your steps."

I sat there speechless and in amazement. As the Lamb instructed me, I began to realize that all through my journey here, I was trying to find a way out, I was trying to feed myself, it was about myself and not trusting the Lamb. I put myself in harm's way to satisfy myself and my own desires. The Lamb had shown me so much love and guidance, all I did was ignore it.

The Lamb laid there in front of me telling me things of miracles and wonder but there were lessons of dark characters. He told me of His journey on the path to which I was traveling, telling me the story of the sheep who followed Him. The same lesson He taught me was first taught to them. He told me the history of the flock that grew and the wolves that have ravaged it. How many sheep in the flock took the water of this river we sat next to and tried to make it their own and profit from it. In these lessons, there was moments of joy and sorrow, moments of clarity and questions, and moments of healing. I understood more clearly of how this world became what it became, why evil exist, and even why evil is in so many hearts, the Lion, the Lamb, and the Dove changes wolves into sheep and cleanses the coat of the sheep regardless of how evil the heart is. I still had so many questions, fog to clear in my own understanding but I realized I may not be able to understand till the day I died and I became alright with that fact.

Moments passed, for me it only felt like minutes but it was hours, my mind flooded with what the Lamb and I talked about. For some reason my legs were like jelly when we first started talking but as we sat there, my legs were strengthened along with my resolve.

"It is time to go" the Lamb stated as He stood up.
"Where are we going?" I desired to know.
"You are going home," the Lamb said with a sad voice.
"What? Why?" I stammered over my words.
"You have learned everything you needed here." the Lamb explained.
"But I don't want to leave!" I pleaded with the Lamb, "I've grown so much here."
"And you will grow no more if you stay," the Lamb said as He acknowledged my pleading, "you will unlearn everything if you stay."

I sat there in that moment, trying to find a way to convince the Lamb but no words could come out of my mouth. After some time of thinking of these ways to convince Him, I heard a voice behind me. It was quiet like a whisper but strong like a king. Suddenly, I felt an object land my shoulder and in the corner of my eye I saw the Dove.

"Enough time has been wasted," the Dove urged the Lamb, "there is work to be done."
"What do you mean?" I inquired of the Dove's comment.
"You are right My Helper," the Lamb agreed with the Dove then turned to me, "I have a job for you, if you accept?"
"What do you need me to do?" I answered the Lamb.
"You will share what you have learned here," the Lamb commanded me, "you will feed others, and wash them also in what I have taught you."
"How can I do this?" I questioned the Lamb, "I don't know what to say?"
"The Helper will be with you," the Lamb instructed me again, "He will live in you, telling you what you what you will say and do. Do you accept?"
"Yes I do." I accepted the job, "with all my heart, I do."

In that moment I knelt down in front of the Lamb and bowed my head in surrender. Once I lifted my head the Dove was gone but once I set my eyes on the Lamb, I saw tongues of flames in the shape of the Dove above His head along with a crown. I noticed though that the Lamb was not looking at me but past me, looking back at the river. Turning around I saw the Lion again also with the same things above His head with His golden fur and glowing amber mane standing on the waters of the river. I watched as the Lamb walked past me to join His Father's side along with the Dove flying above them. There was an urge in my body to look into the water, in the smoothly flowing water, I saw a clear reflection of what should of been myself but it was a sheep but with a tongue of fire above my head. No longer muddy, no more scars, or pain but a healthy sheep. Looking up and seeing the Lion, the Lamb, and the Dove. I stood there in awe of the sight of these Three creatures. Their combine essence glowed as one, the Lamb was a pure white as if no dirt had touched His coat, the Lions pelt was glowing as if burning with fire, and the Dove was translucent as if taking Their light and magnifying Them to the point I couldn't stand looking at Them. As one They all spoke, Their speech was like that of a roaring ocean, a sounding trumpet, and the calm before the storm.

"We charge you, as One," the Three said in one accord, "to spread the wisdom you have learned here, the love you have received, and the freedom you have been freely given."

I couldn't comprehend what I was watching happen so I fell on my knees and covered my eyes from this greatness. In the darkness of my hands there was a silence like that of before a storm.

"Do not be afraid, my child…" I heard a soft Fatherly voice.
"How will I call You when I spread Your message." I asked with closed eyes.
"I have many names," the Voice replied with joyful chuckle, "I Am…"

I opened my eyes to sunlight coming through my window. As my eyes woke up I could see I was back in my apartment room. A room the size of a walk-in closet, I was back in the place I started but I realized I have grown up. Suddenly I heard a knock at my bedroom door.

"Hey are you awake?" I heard one of my roommates' southern military voices, "your dad is here to pick you up."

Quickly I jumped out of bed and got dressed, I threw my backpack onto my shoulder and head out of my door. Remembering that I forgot something I quickly reopened my door and grabbed my Bible from my desk returning back to my previous path...going home...
